Top and bottom tuck flaps fold in opposite directions, distributing stress across seams for greater structural integrity. Which carton style is best for cosmetics and skincare products?
The straight tuck end carton on SBS board is the industry standard for cosmetic packaging — it provides maximum panel print area, a clean professional appearance, and assembles efficiently on automated packing lines. For heavier products like glass serum bottles, an auto-lock bottom carton provides extra base strength. Soft-touch lamination combined with hot gold foil stamping is the most-requested finish combination for premium beauty brands.
Can you print both inside and outside the folding carton?
Yes. Interior printing is standard — brands use the inside of folding color boxes for brand storytelling, ingredient lists, usage instructions, QR codes, or decorative patterns that enhance the unboxing experience. Interior print is typically in 1–4 colours on the uncoated inner surface. Full CMYK interior printing with coating is also available at an additional cost.
What board weight should I specify for my folding carton?
Board weight depends on box size and product weight. General guidelines: 250–300gsm for small cartons (under 100mm height) with lightweight contents; 300–350gsm for standard retail cartons and cosmetics; 350–400gsm for larger boxes or heavier products; 400–450gsm for boxes that need to stand unsupported on shelf. Do you provide a dieline template and 3D mockup before production?
Yes — both are included with every order at no additional cost. We provide a fully dimensioned dieline template (AI / PDF format) for your designer to apply artwork, and a photorealistic 3D digital mockup for approval before any board is cut. Physical hand-made samples are available within 5–7 working days. We strongly recommend physical samples for any carton with embossing, foil stamping, or specialty paper to validate the finish before bulk production.
