Yes. As long as each design meets the 500-piece minimum, multiple designs can be produced and shipped together in the same order, saving on freight costs.
Can the rope handle color be matched to my artwork?
Yes. Twisted cotton rope handles are dyed to order and can be matched to any Pantone color. Please provide your Pantone reference or a physical swatch for accurate matching.
What print resolution do I need for photographic-quality output?
We recommend 300 dpi at final print size, with all fonts outlined and images embedded. Our prepress team will review your file and flag any resolution issues before going to plate.
Do you offer a physical sample before mass production?
Yes, always. A pre-production sample is mandatory at Zhonghao before any order goes to full production. Sample lead time is typically 5–7 working days and can be shipped by express courier.
Can I add a tissue paper insert or gift card to the bag?

Chapter 01
Paper Substrate: The Foundation of Bag Quality
The paper substrate determines durability, print fidelity, and the overall feel of the finished bag. The three most common types used in retail paper bag production are:
Coated Art Paper (铜版纸)
The most popular choice. A clay coating on the surface creates an ultra-smooth printing base for vivid CMYK output. Available in 128gsm–350gsm. Bright white with minimal ink dot gain — ideal for full-color illustration and photographic prints.
Kraft Paper (牛皮纸)
Produced from unbleached wood pulp with high tensile strength and a natural brown or white tone. Weight range 120gsm–350gsm. Preferred for eco-positioned brands. Ink appears slightly warmer due to the base color — best with 1–3 color printing or hot foil stamping.
Duplex / Grey Board (双铜纸 / 灰板纸)
Two layers bonded together for a stiff, box-like structure. The outer sheet is coated art paper; the inner layer is grey board for rigidity. Common in 300gsm–450gsm. Used when the bag must hold its shape without contents — premium retail and department store carriers.
Pro tip: For full-color pattern bags like this product, coated art paper at 250–300gsm with gloss lamination gives the best color saturation and durability balance at commercial scale.

GSM, Load Capacity & Structural Integrity
GSM (grams per square metre) is the standard measure of paper weight. Higher GSM means more material mass per unit area — generally correlating with stiffness and load capacity, though lamination and construction also play major roles.
Note: Load capacity also depends on handle attachment method. Eyelet-reinforced cotton rope handles distribute load across the bag wall more evenly than glued-on ribbon, which can delaminate under heavy contents.

The handle is the most tactile part of a paper bag — the first thing a customer touches. It significantly affects perceived quality and price point. Here's how the main types compare:

Lamination & Surface Finishing: What Each Option Does
Lamination serves two purposes: protecting the printed surface from scuffing and moisture, and enhancing the visual or tactile appeal. Applied after printing, it is the last major variable in bag production quality.
Gloss Lamination
High-reflectance film makes colors appear brighter and more saturated. Fingerprint-prone but extremely vivid. Best for bold, colorful designs where maximum print impact is the goal.
Matte Lamination
Low-glare film gives a refined, understated look. Colors appear slightly deeper and less saturated but the overall aesthetic reads as more premium. Fingerprint-resistant. The default choice for luxury brands.
Soft-Touch Lamination
A micro-textured matte film with a velvet hand feel. The most expensive lamination option but delivers the highest perceived quality — often used by cosmetics, fragrance, and premium fashion brands.
Spot UV Coating
A selective high-gloss varnish applied to specific areas (logo, brand name, illustration details) against a matte background. Creates a contrast effect that draws the eye to key design elements.
Hot Foil Stamping
Metallic foil (gold, silver, rose gold, holographic) is heat-pressed onto the surface using a custom die. Adds a high-end reflective element that cannot be replicated with ink alone. Minimum feature size ~2mm.
Embossing / Debossing
A metal die presses a raised (emboss) or recessed (deboss) relief into the paper surface. Works without ink for a subtle tactile logo, or combined with foil stamping for a premium logo treatment.
Chapter 05
Artwork Preparation: Getting Your Files Print-Ready
Artwork errors are the leading cause of production delays. Following these preparation standards ensures your file is approved at prepress without revision rounds:
Color Mode
All artwork must be in CMYK color mode, not RGB. RGB colors are screen-optimized and will shift when converted to print inks. Convert in Illustrator: Edit → Color Mode → CMYK.
Resolution
Raster images (photos, textures) must be 300 dpi at final print size. Anything below 200 dpi will appear visibly pixelated on the finished bag. Vector elements (.ai, .eps) are resolution-independent.
Bleed & Safe Zone
Add 3mm bleed on all edges where print extends to the cut line. Keep all critical text and logos at least 5mm inside the finished edge — the safe zone — to prevent content from being trimmed.
Fonts
All fonts must be outlined (converted to paths) before sending. This prevents font substitution if the prepress team doesn't have your typeface installed. In Illustrator: Type → Create Outlines.
Accepted File Formats
Adobe Illustrator (.ai), PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4, and EPS are preferred. High-resolution PSD (Photoshop) is also accepted. Please provide files with all layers intact where possible.
