What is the difference between a die cut handle bag and a rope handle bag?
A die cut handle bag has a handle formed by cutting directly through the bag's top panel — no separate handle is attached. How much weight can a die cut handle bag hold?
This depends on the paper weight, handle size, and handle edge finish. A standard 157 gsm coated art paper bag with an oval handle can comfortably carry 2–3 kg for casual retail use. Increasing to 200 gsm paper and adding a cardboard base insert raises this to 4–5 kg. For heavier loads, we recommend padded handle edges and a heavier paper stock — please share your weight requirements when you enquire so we can specify accordingly.
Can I get a fully custom handle shape — not just oval or circle?
Yes. We can produce any handle shape you specify — hearts, leaves, stars, brand logo silhouettes, or any custom contour. A custom handle die is made for your order and re-used for all future repeat orders. There is a one-time tooling cost for custom die shapes; please ask for a quote when enquiring.
Are die cut handle bags suitable for heavy or damp items?
For moderately damp items (e.g. chilled bottles in a boutique), a laminated art paper bag with a cardboard base insert offers adequate short-term moisture resistance. For items with high moisture exposure (e.g. fresh baked goods, flowers with wet stems), we recommend a PE-coated kraft paper or a fully laminated paper with sealed side seams. Please describe your product when enquiring so we can recommend the right specification.
Can the bag be printed on the inside as well?
Yes. Interior printing is available and is one of our most popular premium add-ons. The inside can be printed with a brand color, pattern, or message — a detail that delights customers when they open the bag and is increasingly used as a differentiator by luxury and lifestyle brands.
Do you offer FSC-certified paper for eco-focused brands?
Yes. FSC-certified kraft and recycled paper options are available on request.
