The Ultimate Guide to Universal iPhone Packaging Boxes for Refurbished Phone Sellers
One Box. Every iPhone.
Zero Compromise on Print.
Most packaging manufacturers make you choose between fit and finish. At ZHPackage, we engineered a universal iPhone box that eliminates that trade-off — and then we obsessed over what goes on the outside.

There's a quiet problem in the phone accessories and resale industry that almost nobody talks about: packaging logistics. Every time Apple updates a form factor — and they do, quietly and often — brands that tied their packaging to a specific model suddenly have a warehouse full of boxes they can't use. Returns spike. Reorders cost money. And nobody remembers that the product inside was excellent.
We built ZHPackage's universal iPhone packaging line to solve this specifically. One structural design. Every current iPhone model, from iPhone 13 mini to iPhone 15 Pro Max, fits cleanly. But the real story — the part our clients keep coming back for — is what we can do to the surface of that box.
Why "universal fit" is harder than it sounds
A universal box isn't simply a larger box. A large, loose-fit box looks cheap the moment a customer picks it up — the phone shifts, the interior feels hollow, and that tactile impression is brand damage. Our engineering team spent months on the internal tray geometry: a dual-layer foam-and-cardboard insert system with graduated zones that snugly cradle every iPhone dimension without modification.
This matters operationally. It matters even more when you're printing custom packaging — because you only need to approve one artwork file, run one print job, and manage one inventory line.
Our printing capabilities: what most factories won't tell you
Packaging print quality is where promises get vague fast. "Full color" means nothing. "High resolution" means nothing. Here's what we actually run at ZHPackage:
Offset lithography is our primary process for runs above 500 units. Pantone spot color matching is standard, not an upcharge — if your brand has a precise color spec, we match it. CMYK drift across a print run is controlled to Delta E < 2, which is the threshold where most human eyes can't detect variation.
Digital print handles short runs from 50 units and is particularly useful for product launches, regional campaigns, or seasonal variants. Turnaround is faster, and per-unit cost is predictable without minimum order pressure.
Finishing options we run in-house include soft-touch matte lamination, gloss spot UV (we can UV-coat just your logo while the rest of the surface stays matte — a detail that photographs beautifully), gold and silver hot foil stamping, emboss and deboss, and aqueous coating for surfaces that will be handled frequently.
Real projects, real results
Case study 01
UR Phone — refurbished iPhone retail packaging
UR Phone needed packaging that matched the premium quality of their refurbished iPhones — not something that screamed "second-hand." They came to us with a brand guide and a tight delivery window. We produced matte black universal boxes with white hot foil text, a custom-colored interior tray, and a QR panel linking to their warranty and certification portal. The unboxing experience shifted from functional to flagship. Customer review scores for packaging quality improved significantly within the first 60 days of rollout — and UR Phone has reordered every quarter since.

Case study 02
Boost — carrier campaign gifting boxes
Boost ran a loyalty rewards campaign where high-value customers received iPhones as branded gifts. The requirement: premium gift-ready packaging at scale, on a 3-week lead time. We delivered embossed universal boxes in Boost's brand colors, with a magnetic closure lid and ribbon pull on the interior tray. Every box passed their corporate gifting quality checklist. The campaign drove strong customer response, and Boost came back with a larger order for the following campaign cycle.

nxt2nu — sustainable resale packaging with brand presence
nxt2nu built their brand around the idea that refurbished phones deserve a first-life unboxing experience. Their challenge was communicating sustainability credentials without looking cheap. We produced kraft-surface universal boxes with soy-based ink printing, a soft-touch laminate finish, and a spot UV logo — a combination that reads as both eco-conscious and premium. The multi-model compatibility of our universal box meant nxt2nu could stock one box type across their entire iPhone inventory range, simplifying their 3PL operations considerably.

How to place a custom order with ZHPackage
We've deliberately kept the ordering process simple. Here's what a typical custom project looks like from first contact to delivery:
01 Send your inquiry with quantity, target delivery date, and any reference images. | 02 We send a dieline template (.AI or .PDF) sized to our universal box spec. | 03 Your designer (or ours) places artwork on the dieline and returns the file. | 04 We produce a physical sample for approval before the full run begins. |
What to prepare before reaching out
You don't need a finished design to start a conversation with us. But the more of the following you have ready, the faster we can quote and move:
✓ Your logo file in vector format (.AI, .EPS, or high-res .PDF)
✓ Brand color values — Pantone codes preferred; CMYK or HEX accepted
✓ Required text copy: brand name, product name, taglines, legal text, website URL, barcode specs
✓ Any lifestyle or product photography for the box surface (300 dpi minimum)
✓ Target quantity and preferred finish direction (matte / gloss / foil / emboss)
✓ Required delivery date or launch / trade show deadline
No logo yet? We have an in-house design team that handles brand identity and packaging artwork as a service. Many of our clients — particularly early-stage brands and individual resellers — come to us at the concept stage and leave with finished production files and boxes.
A note on minimum order quantities
Our standard production MOQ for custom offset-printed boxes is 500 units. Digital print starts at 50 units. We're not structured for single-unit orders, but we are structured for brands at every stage of scale — from a 50-unit pilot launch to a 50,000-unit quarterly run. Pricing is transparent and quoted per project based on quantity, finish specifications, and lead time.
